The General Directorate of Meteorology said in an orange alert bulletin that it expects a heatwave and thunderstorm showers with gusty winds and hail from today, Friday, until the day after tomorrow, Sunday, in several regions of the kingdom.
The Directorate clarified that a heatwave is expected from Friday to Sunday, June 19 to 21, with temperatures ranging between 40 and 45 degrees. This will affect the provinces and regions of Errachidia, Jerada, Taourirt, Figuig, Zagad, Tata, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, Oussard, Kerchif, and Boulemane.
It also added that hot weather is expected on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures ranging between 39 and 42 degrees, in the provinces and regions of Taza, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Fez, Moulay Yaqub, and Taounate.
The Meteorological Directorate also expects thunderstorms (20 to 30 mm) with gusty winds and hail during the weekend. This is expected on Friday from 2 PM to 11 PM, in Khénifra, Midelt, Ifran, Boulemane, and Sefrou.
