The Royal Moroccan Football Federation confirmed today, Friday, the inclusion of players Amin Sebai and Marouane Saadan to the final list of the Moroccan national team, consisting of 26 players, who have been called up to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals to compensate for the absence of the duo Nayef Akrd and Abdessamad Ezlzouli due to injury.
The federation clarified in a statement that after the player Ezlzouli underwent a series of specialized medical examinations, it was found that he suffered a sprain in his right knee accompanied by a tear in the medial collateral ligament, emphasizing that this injury requires a prolonged treatment and rehabilitation period, which will prevent him from participating in the 2026 World Cup finals.
Regarding player Nayef Akrd, the statement indicated that the health condition of the latter has improved significantly in recent weeks, thanks to the treatment and rehabilitation program he underwent, noting that despite the positive progress recorded, the remaining time before the start of the competitions is not sufficient for the player to regain his physical and competitive readiness fully to participate in the tournament under the best conditions.
The statement confirmed that based on the approved medical reports, and in order to ensure the full readiness of the team since the start of the competitions, the national coach, Mr. Mohamed Wahbi, decided to call up players Amin Sebai and Marouane Saadan to join the final list of 26 players, knowing that these two players had participated in the last preparatory gathering of the national team as part of the reserve list, showing commitment and readiness that qualify them to join the group during this important phase.
