In a statement to the Dutch sports site “Sportnius,” former Moroccan national team player Karim El Ahmadi expressed that Hakim Ziyech still possesses the level required to play in the elite of Dutch football.
El Ahmadi emphasized that “a standout player like Ziyech has a natural place in the top league, especially in a competition like the Eredivisie,” and he expressed surprise that such talent is currently without a club in the Netherlands.
The former Feyenoord midfielder believes Ziyech could be “very beneficial” to one of the top three clubs in the Netherlands.
Although acknowledging that the former Atlas Lions playmaker has gone through a difficult period, El Ahmadi praised his technical skills, stating, “If it were up to him, he would be close to returning to Dutch football.”
He added, “Ziyech is capable of scoring from distance or providing a decisive pass from nothing. He has a unique technique and real talent.”
El Ahmadi continued, “Even if he hasn’t played in several months, he remains an artist. He doesn’t need to be at his physical peak to make a difference. I believe he would be an asset to any club.”
Hakim Ziyech is 32 years old and is currently without a club after leaving Qatari side Al-Duhail. He has previously played for Ajax, Chelsea, and Galatasaray.
Recently, he was close to signing with Romanian club CFR Cluj, but negotiations stalled due to financial reasons, according to Dutch media.
