In coordination with the services of the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, police elements in the city of Kenitra managed, during a security operation on Saturday morning, June 27, to seize two tons and 429 kilograms of kif (cannabis), and arrest a person suspected of being linked to a criminal network active in drug trafficking and psychoactive substances.
This security operation was carried out in the rural area of “Oulad Amlik” near Kenitra, where two utility vehicles loaded with drugs were intercepted, before the driver of one of them was arrested while the other managed to escape.
The search operation conducted in this case resulted in finding two tons and 429 kilograms of kif, 522 kilograms of smuggled tobacco, in addition to 133 kilograms of shira (hashish) and 50 grams of cocaine, and five kilograms of kif powder inside the two vehicles.
The search operation also led to the seizure of six white weapons and 10 forged license plates for vehicles, and the arrested suspect was kept under custody as part of the investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor, to ascertain the possible extensions of this criminal network and arrest the remaining alleged perpetrators involved in this criminal activity.
