La ciudad de Tánger acoge a 300 jóvenes de la diáspora marroquí en su Universidad de Verano.

The city of Tangier is hosting until July 12 the 17th Summer University for young Moroccans living abroad, an initiative organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, within the framework of the Marhaba 2026 operation.

The event brings together nearly 300 Moroccan students aged 18 to 25 from over 26 countries. 88% were born outside of Morocco, and women make up 59% of the participants.

Created in 2009, the program aims to strengthen the links between new generations of the diaspora and Morocco, bringing them closer to their heritage, their identity and the country’s development opportunities.

The agenda includes lectures, workshops, and visits to historical sites and infrastructure in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and Salé. Participants will visit, among other places, Tangier Automotive City, the main stadium in Tangier, the Mohammed VI football complex, and the Moroccan Football Museum.

The activities will address issues such as digital transformation, the culture of dialogue, Moroccan heritage, and opportunities for Moroccans living abroad.
