The Hammami: The University Hospital Refuses to Receive Residents of Iznaya!!

Amid the silence of the head of the commune, Mohamed Boulaich, the parliamentarian Mohamed El Hamami turned to the parliament to express his astonishment at the reception of the residents of the commune of Akzenaia in the University Hospital Mohamed VI.

The parliamentarian stated that the residents of the commune suffer from repeated difficulties in accessing emergency health services, as many patients and companions are surprised upon their arrival at the emergency department of the University Hospital Mohamed VI in Tangier by being refused admission, being asked instead to go to the regional hospital Mohamed V, despite the fact that some cases may require urgent and immediate medical intervention.

According to the same source, this situation provokes great dissatisfaction among the residents, especially since many health cases are critical and cannot withstand transport between health institutions, which may endanger the patients’ lives and raises questions regarding the conditions and criteria for benefiting from the services of the university hospital and its emergency department.

El Hamami demanded that the Minister of Health provide clarifications about the reasons behind the refusal to admit some patients from the commune of Akzenaia in the emergency department of the university hospital in Tangier, and about the procedures and measures that will be taken to ensure citizens’ right to treatment and immediate reception in emergency services.

The parliamentarian questioned whether there is clear coordination between health institutions in the Tangier region to avoid patients’ suffering and repeated transportation between them.
