A councilor in the city of Asilah threatened to hit journalistic photographers with water bottles during a council session held on Friday, May 15.
The councilor reacted to prevent the media from filming a dispute among council members, claiming to protect their image and avoid the public witnessing their shouting. However, she presented a very poor image of the councilors of this municipality after threatening to use thuggery and violence against the photographers.
As if she were in an uncontrolled public market with no oversight, she shouted the name “Ahmed” multiple times to stop the press from filming, before informing him that she might resort to hitting them with a water bottle, in a clear northern accent: “I will take care of them with a bottle.”
The scene was recorded in both video and audio, and the councilor did not only fail to maintain the image of the council, but also created a “disgrace” and did not even preserve her own image, ultimately resulting in a “very bad” scene that will top social media platforms, which will truly be the most notable achievement she has accomplished since her election.
