It’s not just tech billionaires who are prepping for the seemingly inevitable apocalypse — everyone’s favourite face-tatted rapper is ready for Doomsday too.
Austin Richard Post, or Post Malone as the world knows him, bought his fancy end-of-the-world property all the way back in 2018 for a whopping $3.1 million price tag.
The elite mansion is in Cottonwood Heights in Utah, USA, located in an ultra-secluded area outside Salt Lake City.
Sprawling across 6.75 acres, the apocalypse-proof home boasts views of the mountains, canyons as well as the city skyline, making it a real-estate catch even by celebrity standards.
In the past, Post has called the city of Cottonwood Heights “the most amazing place ever” — and honestly, we would too, if our house had the amenities the rapper’s did.
The 13,000-square-foot mansion, originally built in 1986, is kitted out with a wine cellar, pool, jacuzzi, basketball court, tennis court, fire pit, home gym, living room featuring a bar, outdoor kitchen and a conference room.
As per TMZ, the Syracuse-born musician was also going to install a state-of-the-art recording studio in the space. Post’s home has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and a mix of sleek stone, wood, and glass structures.
So, what makes this Cottonwood Heights home an extra-special doomsday bunker? Undoubtedly Post Malone’s conviction that it will be a great place to ride out the End Of The World.
Appearing on the H3 Podcast in 2017 (before he had officially bought the property), Post had shared: “I’m just buying a place out in the sticks. I’m building it underground. It’s going to be fun until the world ends. But whenever the world ends, it’s going to be functional.”
Speaking of his plans for his doomsday shelter, the singer said: “I’m going to put in, like, 30 bunk beds. It’s free country out there. Like, you can buy suppressors in Utah. You can do open-carry. Walk into the grocery store with a handgun on your hip. Cowboy s**t. I can’t wait.”
The singer-songwriter also predicted that there would be a lot of “weird s**t that happens within our lifetime.”
In a separate February 2018 interview with Montreality, the rapper called out “the f*****g US government”, branding it “the biggest lie in the world” and claiming it is “not what it used to be” as he shared his failsafe plans for the end of the world.
He explained: “Move somewhere, because whenever martial law is declared … whenever your credit cards fail, whenever your banks fail … you have three days to get out of where you are because that’s when they’re coming for you.
“That’s the big move. That’s checkmate right there. And they think they have you.”
The rapper then encouraged people to get ready to make a move themselves as he advised “get your scraps. Stand up for yourself. Build a tower. Build a long road where you can see them coming. Don’t give up, America.”
Post’s Utah mansion reportedly has bullet-proof floor-to-ceiling windows and a powerful security system.
Before moving into his lavish Utah doomsday bunker, Post Malone previously lived in a $26 million Beverly Hills rental.
