The international future of the German-Moroccan striker Younes Ebnoutalib continues to raise many questions, as he stated that he has not yet made a definitive decision about which national team he will represent, keeping the possibility of wearing the jerseys of either Morocco or Germany open for the future.
ebnoutalib’s comments came during the national team’s training camp in Grassau, where he spoke candidly about his international prospects, revealing insights into his past communications with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and discussing the possibility of representing the German national team.
He confirmed that he has not made a final choice regarding his future representation, emphasizing that he is still open to wearing the colors of both Morocco and Germany.
In remarks reported by the website Foot Africa, Ebnoutalib stated, “It’s clear that playing for a national team is part of my goals. I am open to representing either Morocco or Germany.”
The Eintracht Frankfurt forward expressed disappointment at not being selected for the Moroccan team heading to the 2026 World Cup, noting that he believed his level of play warranted a place on the roster.
He added, “I was disappointed, but I respect that decision. I was very happy for Ayoub Amimoun. I can’t change what happened, and we’ll see what the future holds.”
Ebnoutalib revealed that he had been in contact with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation over the past few years, but those discussions ceased after he experienced playing in the second and then third division in Germany.
He highlighted that this setback in his football career led to the halt in conversations about his integration into the Moroccan national team.
When asked about the possibility of receiving a call-up from the German national team, currently managed by Jürgen Klopp, Ebnoutalib assured he would not hesitate to accept. He concluded, “Of course, I would accept the call-up. Who could refuse?”
