The Moroccan international Abdel Samad Al Zalzouli left the national team camp held in the United States of America, after it was confirmed that he would miss the 2026 World Cup due to the injury he sustained in his knee during a friendly match against Norway.
Press reports mentioned on Monday, June 15, that the Real Betis player returned to Spain before it was decided to direct him to France to begin the treatment and rehabilitation phase at a specialized center for knee injuries. This was coordinated between the medical staff of the Moroccan national team and his Spanish club.
Al Zalzouli had suffered an injury to the inner collateral ligament of the knee, which forced the technical staff of the national team to exclude him from the final list participating in the World Cup, replacing him with player Amin Sabai.
The player is expected to undergo a treatment program lasting several weeks, aimed at regaining his physical readiness before returning to competitions in the upcoming football season with his team Real Betis.
