The administration of the French secondary school “Lycée Reineau” in the city of Tangier had to evacuate its students and all staff on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 9, after receiving a terrorist threat via email.
According to what “Tangier 7” learned, the sender of the email claimed to belong to the Islamic State “ISIS” and that he would carry out an explosion inside the school.
The incident, which coincided with the period of the baccalaureate exams, called for an immediate intervention from the security services in the city of Tangier, which rushed to intervene and comb the educational institution and its surroundings, with the assistance of police dogs, before it became clear that it was a false threat.
While some security forces are still stationed near “Lycée Reineau,” initial data indicates that the police managed to identify the sender of the email who sent the terrorist threat message, who is suspected of being one of the students of the school.
Investigations and security inquiries are still ongoing with the aim of uncovering the circumstances and details of the incident, and identifying all those involved in it.
