In the framework of activating the mechanisms of informational vigilance to confront all calls for incitement to sports riots via social media platforms, the national security services monitored digital content shared by an individual associated with the supporters of Mouloudia de Oujda, which includes the team’s logo and a representation of a firearm and ammunition.
The investigations and inquiries conducted, supported by the necessary technical expertise, enabled the identification of the individual who shared and distributed this digital content marked by violence and threats, before he was arrested in the city of Oujda on the evening of Saturday, June 6th.
The investigation procedures also led to identifying the source of the published digital content, which had been shared with the arrested suspect by another person currently residing in a European country, whose identity has been fully established pending legal proceedings against him as well.
The arrested individual has been kept in custody in connection with this case under the supervision of investigative detention, at the request of the competent public prosecutor, to uncover all criminal acts attributed to him and to determine the motives and backgrounds behind his publication of digital content that incites sports riots and constitutes a direct threat to commit offenses against persons and property.
