🔥Report: A majority in the Dutch Parliament supports the extradition agreement with Morocco.

Dutch media reports revealed that there is support from a majority within the Dutch parliament to move toward ratifying a judicial cooperation agreement with Morocco concerning the extradition of criminals.

According to the website “The Hague Insider” on Thursday, May 28, this parliamentary support paves the way for the official adoption of the agreement, after it was signed between Morocco and the Netherlands in December 2023 in the capital, Rabat, as part of enhancing cooperation in combating transnational crime.

The agreement stipulates the establishment of a clear legal framework for the extradition of individuals being prosecuted or convicted in criminal cases between the two countries, which would contribute to facilitating judicial procedures and reducing instances of impunity.

According to the official treaty database of the Dutch government, the agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the areas of combating organized crime, including drug trafficking and money laundering.

The entry into force of the agreement remains contingent on completing the legislative process within the Dutch parliament, including voting and final ratification.
