\u201cIt was a very complex examination, and we must wait for the results of the additional investigations performed.\u201d This was stated by the forensic doctor Benedetto Vergari<\/strong>, consultant for the four volunteers from the Red Cross<\/strong> who were present on Via Svevo<\/strong> last Sunday when 42-year-old Abderrahim Fakir<\/strong> died, at the end of the autopsy. The examination, which lasted six hours, concluded this afternoon around 5 PM. \u201cWe cannot say anything,\u201d Vergari remarked, \u201cas a matter of respect for what happened and professional confidentiality. It was a very detailed and thorough examination, but it is a complex case and we need to wait.\u201d Outside the mortuary, others involved and representatives from the prosecutor\u2019s office are awaiting updates.<\/p>\n

Presence of live blood in the lungs and crushing.<\/strong> According to various sources, these are among the elements revealed by the autopsy on Abderrahim Fakir\u2019s body. Regarding these two aspects, it remains to be determined whether the crushing was due to excessive use of force while the man was alive or if it occurred “post-mortem” during resuscitation efforts. Likewise, it still needs to be established whether the presence of blood in the lungs was due to possible cocaine use by Fakir or excessive compression.<\/p>\n

Statements from the lawyer representing Fakir\u2019s family and the police officers<\/strong>
\n\u201cI am not a forensic doctor, but I believe there may be an undeniable asphyxiation scenario due to compression. However, we must await the conclusions.\u201d This was stated to Ansa by Fakir’s family lawyer, Fabio Anselmo, regarding the autopsy.<\/p>\n
