This followed a Thursday night post featuring<\/a> a collage of quintessentially American imagery, like Iwo Jima and the Miracle on Ice, overshadowed by a picture of Trump captioned \u201cAmerica\u2019s Eras Tour,\u201d making light of Swift\u2019s prominent 2023 concert poster. The post even included Taylor\u2019s lyric \u201cIt\u2019s a long time coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

The prospect of a wedding<\/a> during a national holiday seemed to irritate a Swift-sensitive president: on Friday, the White House also uploaded videos to X that combined moments from U.S. history with a Swift twist. One video announced<\/a> \u201cNext in America\u2019s Eras Tour,\u201d while another celebrated<\/a> \u201cAmerica\u2019s greatest hits, one era at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In comparison to other celebrity feuds Trump has engaged in \u2014 such as an AI video featuring himself as a doctor treating Julia Roberts and Robert De Niro for \u201cTrump Derangement Syndrome\u201d \u2014 this interaction felt relatively mild and even a bit begrudgingly appreciative. This is likely due to the nuances involved.<\/p>\n

Targeting liberal movie stars is a straightforward strategy for the president, resonating well with his base. However, engaging with Swift is more delicate for Trump, who recognizes that many voters in crucial swing states admire her and her progressive views. Thus, going against her could backfire. That\u2019s why he has expressed well-wishes for the couple, albeit while predicting their relationship might not endure.<\/p>\n
