On June 30, the Cervantes Institute<\/strong><\/a> in Tangier hosted a literary event<\/strong> at its Art Gallery featuring Argentine author Anal\u00eda Iglesias<\/strong>. Titled \u201cDo we write or are we written? Does destiny exist?\u201d, the event saw the presentation of her book “Mashi Mushkil: Approaches to Maghreb Destiny<\/strong>“, released in 2021.<\/p>\n

In her book<\/strong>, Anal\u00eda captures the essence of the Moroccan environment<\/strong>, revealing a world that may be unfamiliar to many visitors but is deeply resonant for her. Having transitioned from being a tourist exploring Marrakech and the narrow<\/strong> alleys of the medinas in Fez, Rabat, or Tangier to a resident immersed in the vibrant lives of Moroccans, she offers an intimate portrayal of urban life.<\/p>\n

Anal\u00eda Iglesias in Morocco<\/h2>\n

Born in Argentina<\/strong>, Anal\u00eda Iglesias has spent the last twenty years<\/strong> in Spain and has worked as a university lecturer<\/strong> in Morocco at Hassan II University, where she helped establish the Casa-Docks film venue in Casablanca.<\/p>\n

While in Morocco, Iglesias also organized various film series and conferences<\/strong> focused on climate change and curated the documentary section<\/strong> at the Sal\u00e9 International Women\u2019s Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Throughout her four years in Rabat<\/strong>, she developed the manuscripts that constitute “Machi Mushkil: Approaches to the Maghreb\u2019s Destiny<\/strong>“, published in 2021 by the local publisher Alcion Editora.<\/p>\n

Dedication to the Maghreb and Africa<\/h2>\n

Anal\u00eda Iglesias, a writer and journalist, contributes to El Pa\u00eds and other Spanish and Latin American media focusing on cultural and gender issues<\/strong>, human rights, science, and the environment, with an emphasis on the Maghreb and Africa.<\/p>\n

Currently, she continues to report, from Madrid, on socio-cultural and artistic<\/strong> initiatives originating from the Maghreb, the Sahel, and West Africa<\/strong>.
