The Spanish Civil Guard, in cooperation with the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie, managed to seize 121 bundles of hashish weighing approximately 4.777 kilograms after pursuing a “go fast” boat that was traveling at high speed in the waters of the Strait of Gibraltar.<\/p>\n

The operation began when the suspicious vessel was spotted sailing in the vicinity of the strait. After analyzing its course, speed, and direction, and as the pursuit developed, immediate action was taken to deploy the Civil Guard’s maritime service, supported by the Civil Guard’s air service.<\/p>\n

The Go fast, which is typically used by networks specialized in drug smuggling, was loaded with bundles of hashish and was performing evasive maneuvers to complicate security tracking.<\/p>\n

In the first phase of the chase, the maritime patrol of the Civil Guard maintained direct tracking of the smuggler boat, exerting continuous pressure on its crew.<\/p>\n

In response, the crew began to throw part of the hashish cargo into the sea to lighten the boat and increase its speed, making it harder to catch the drugs.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Civil Guard’s air service, the location of the bundles that were thrown into the sea during the escape was identified.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the land units of the Civil Guard remained on alert to cover potential points for reaching the coast, anticipating the boat’s attempt to dock to facilitate the crew’s escape.<\/p>\n

As a result of this operation, they managed to recover 32 bundles of hashish weighing approximately 1.200 kilograms that had been thrown into the sea.<\/p>\n

Under the intense pressure from the Civil Guard and the direction of the boat, its crew continued to flee towards the waters near Morocco. At that point, international cooperation channels with the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie were activated immediately, which quickly deployed its maritime resources and headed to intercept the boat.<\/p>\n

This integrated coordination allowed for closing off all possible escape routes, preventing the crew from securing the cargo, which led to the complete thwarting of the operation.<\/p>\n

The Moroccan maritime patrols forced the members of the boat to dispose of the remaining cargo they were carrying, leading to the final thwarting of the drug transport.<\/p>\n

As a result of this operation, the Moroccan maritime authorities recovered 89 bundles of hashish weighing approximately 3.577 kilograms.<\/p>\n
