The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, based on intelligence information provided by the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, was able this Saturday morning to arrest an individual holding extremist views promoted by the terrorist organization “ISIS,” who is 31 years old, active in the city of Mdiq, and suspected of being involved in preparing and planning to execute a terrorist scheme that poses a serious threat to the safety of individuals and public order.<\/p>\n
A statement from the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations indicated that the initial investigations and inquiries, supported by security tracking operations, revealed that the arrested person had actually engaged in preparing terrorist projects as part of what is called “individual jihad,” by acquiring expertise in explosives manufacturing with the aim of executing plans that target the safety of individuals and public order as well as vital facilities.<\/p>\n
The same source noted that the suspect has been placed under police custody, pending the judicial investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations under the supervision of the public prosecutor responsible for terrorism cases, in order to uncover all extremist activities attributed to him and to clarify his potential links with various terrorist organizations within Morocco and abroad.<\/p>\n
