The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region categorically denied the information circulated in recent hours by some news websites and social media platforms regarding incorrect news that claims local authorities in the city of Tangier conducted a census of the residents of the city of Larache currently in Tangier. Those who were previously evacuated from areas affected by floods were allegedly invited to register with local authority offices as an administrative procedure.
The regional authority confirmed in this regard that this information has no basis in fact and does not relate to reality. It emphasized that local authorities have not issued any procedures of this kind.
The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region urged all citizens, those in charge of news platforms, and social media users to verify the accuracy of news before circulating it. It also called for obtaining information from its official and accredited sources to avoid spreading rumors or misinformation that could cause unnecessary confusion.
The regional authority indicated that all procedures and measures implemented by the Tangier authorities are announced clearly and transparently. This is done through official statements and accredited communication channels.
