Two individuals, one of whom is a minor, were arrested by the judicial police in Casablanca early Friday morning on suspicion of involvement in crimes related to violence linked to sports unrest, causing property damage, and possessing a weapon in conditions posing a threat to people and property.
According to reliable security sources, the incident occurred during a football match between two local teams (Raja and Wydad), where the suspects obstructed vehicle traffic on a public street before escalating to direct assault. One of the suspects inflicted damage on a vehicle using a weapon, an event captured in a video that circulated on social media, provoking public outrage and calls for increased security measures at sporting events.
Sources confirmed that the investigations conducted rapidly identified the suspects, leading to their arrest without injuries or further incidents. During the search operation, police discovered five “Rivotril” pills, a quantity of the locally known drug “shira,” a weapon, and a motorcycle suspected to have been obtained from prior criminal activities.
