Negligence in Installation: Nursery Owner and Caregiver Jailed After Infant’s Death

A judge at the Appeals Court in Tangier has ordered the owner of a daycare and a caregiver to be imprisoned as part of an investigation into the death of an infant in the Al-Qawadis neighborhood of the Bir Chifa area.

The charges against them include abandoning a minor in a situation that led to her death, as well as fraud and operating a professional activity without official authorization.

This decision follows a request submitted by the public prosecutor at the same court, amid an intensive investigation launched by judicial authorities to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic death, according to judicial sources.

The infant, who was only a few months old, was under the care of the daycare where the incident that led to her death occurred. It was reportedly due to obvious negligence in care, as a video surfaced showing her being subjected to violence by an eight-year-old child, who had been assigned to “care for the infants.”

The video contains scenes that may be distressing for some viewers.
