On Monday, October 20, Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah Alaoui announced that the monthly rejection rate of applications for direct social support in 2025 stands at 1.3 percent.
In her address to the House of Representatives, Alaoui noted that the number of families benefiting from this program has increased to 3.9 million, up from approximately 2.6 million in January 2024.
She added that 62 percent of the beneficiary households receive assistance aimed at protecting against childhood-related risks, while one-third receive flat-rate aid.
The minister attributed the rejection of certain applications to changes in the circumstances of some families or individuals.
She emphasized that the “direct social support program is a royal strategic initiative, implemented within a clear, transparent, and equitable institutional and legal framework, based on the unified social register.”
