The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, has issued a decision granting an exceptional promotion to two police officers. One officer, a security guard, worked in the Public Security Directorate in Rabat, while the other, a chief inspector, is based in the Fes Security Prefecture. This decision recognizes their significant sacrifices and professional acumen.
Both officers faced serious incidents while performing their duties. The first officer was involved in a fatal traffic accident after completing a regular work shift. The second officer suffered intentional harm from a driver who, in an advanced state of intoxication, refused to comply and deliberately collided with him, resulting in severe skull injuries.
Under this decision, the relevant central services have been tasked with documenting the exceptional promotion of the individuals concerned to the ranks of “Police Officer” and “Police Chief” in their professional records. Administrative measures will be taken to arrange for the legal and material implications of this promotion for the officers and their families.
Hammouchi also directed the provision of condolences to the family of the deceased officer and instructed the social and health services of the national security to provide all necessary support and assistance to the families of both officers.
This initiative reflects, according to an official statement, a humanitarian gesture and a high level of appreciation from the General Directorate of National Security for the spirit of sacrifice and responsibility demonstrated by its employees, particularly those who make sacrifices in the service of national security and the safety of citizens.
