On the morning of Friday, September 12, the body of a police officer from Tangier was discovered. This followed a police intervention at his home in the Merinissi neighborhood of the Beni Makada area, prompted by reports from neighbors about an unusual smell emanating from the residence.
It is believed that the officer, aged 48, passed away at least four or five days prior without anyone noticing. He was serving with the Tangier police assigned to the Tangier Med area. His body has been transported to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
In line with standard procedures for such incidents, the security services have initiated their investigations while awaiting the autopsy results before proceeding with burial arrangements.
