The Moroccan Professional Football League’s first division (Season 2025–2026) will commence on Friday, September 2, with the first round of matches featuring strong encounters among teams with varying ambitions. The opening match will see Ittihad Tangier host Hassania Agadir at the Village Sports Stadium. Meanwhile, defending champions Nahda Berkan will travel to face newly promoted Olympic Dcheira with their youthful squad. Olympic Safi, holders of the Throne Cup, will welcome the resilient Istiklal Turkia team at the Al-Masira Stadium.
Attention will also be directed to Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, where Wydad Casablanca will take on the returning team from Marrakech, Kawkab. This classic matchup holds renewed significance, as the home team aims for three points while the visiting team aspires to minimize their losses.
The match between Fath Rabat and Raja Casablanca is expected to attract interest due to the competitive nature that has characterized their encounters, with both sides looking for a strong start to the new season. Royal Army, last season’s runners-up, will host newly promoted Ittihad Yaqub al-Mansour in a local clash, with the balance tipped in favor of the Army team, bolstered by numerous stars, including local national team members.
In other matches, Difaâ Hassani Jadidi will take on Club Meknès, while Nahda Zemamra will visit Maghreb de Fès.
