Morocco Qualifies for the 2026 World Cup

The Moroccan national football team has qualified for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, after defeating Niger 5-0 on Friday, September 5, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The goals for the Moroccan team were scored by Ismael Sabari (29th, 38th minutes), Ayoub El Kaabi (51st minute), Hamza Iguain (69th minute), and Azedine Ounahi (84th minute).

Following this victory, the Moroccan national team, which secured its qualification with two matches remaining in the qualifiers, solidified its position at the top of Group 5 with 18 points from six matches. Tanzania follows in second place with 10 points, while Zambia and Niger have 6 points each, and Congo has 1 point.

The 2026 World Cup will mark Morocco’s seventh appearance in the final stages of the tournament and its third consecutive participation (1970, 1986, 1994, 1998, 2018, 2022).
