Testify Falsely or Face Imprisonment

A worker in Tangier, named Hamza Ezzeroili, has shared his ongoing struggles with his former employer, who allegedly tried to coerce him into providing false testimony against his colleagues. Following his refusal, the employer is now attempting to imprison him on multiple charges, despite his prior acquittal by the judiciary.

Ezzeroili reached out for assistance to put an end to this harassment, and his story quickly garnered significant attention and support online.

The worker, a father of three living in the Sidi Idriss Achand neighborhood, stated he was employed at a trucking company. However, in recent months, he faced a challenging situation when his employer requested that he testify falsely against the company’s warehouse guards.

Hamza refused this demand, citing his fear of God, which led to his dismissal. His hardships escalated when his employer filed a complaint against him, accusing him of theft and arson at the warehouse.

Hamza was detained for four days by the judicial police before the matter was taken to the primary court. Due to the intervention of the public prosecutor, who recognized the lack of evidence against Hamza, he was acquitted in 2025 following investigations that confirmed his innocence. However, the employer continued to press charges against him, seeking to prevent Hamza from reclaiming his rights and to exert pressure on him.

Hamza, who supports his parents and three children, expressed his frustration over the behavior of his employer, who owns several sewing factories and warehouses and boasts about his influence and wealth. “I have only God Almighty,” Hamza stated, expressing his trust in the integrity of the public prosecution and the national police led by Abdelatif Hammouchi.

He called for thorough investigations and requested an examination of the employer’s phone to uncover the truth.

Hamza issued an urgent appeal to anyone who knows him to share his story, hoping it reaches someone with a conscience who can help him confront what he describes as injustice. He added, “I am patient and believe in God and justice. All I ask is to be left in peace with my family.”
