Weather Update for Sunday

The National Meteorological Directorate forecasts for Sunday, August 24, that the weather will generally be relatively hot, particularly in the southeastern part of the country and the extreme south.

Dense low clouds are expected to form in the morning and at night near the coasts, accompanied by fog or mist west of the Mediterranean coast and in the northwestern desert regions.

Scattered rain showers with thunderstorms are anticipated in the High and Middle Atlas, Rif, Saiss, and Phosphate plateaus, affecting the plains north of Casablanca and the Mediterranean coast. There will be strong gusts of wind along the central coasts, the southern eastern region, and the desert areas, with localized dust storms.

Minimum temperatures will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius in the southeastern regions and eastern desert areas, and from 18 to 24 degrees Celsius in the remaining regions.

During the day, temperatures are expected to rise in the eastern region, the Atlas, and its eastern slopes, while they will decline in other areas.

The Mediterranean Sea will be calm, while it will be calm to slightly rough in the Strait of Gibraltar, slightly rough north of Casablanca, and slightly rough to rough along the other coasts.
