The neighborhood of Zahra in the Meras area of Tangier witnessed serious security incidents on the night of Tuesday, May 19, 2026, as a group of individuals known for drug use attacked residents following a heated argument among themselves.
According to eyewitnesses, the conflict arose between several individuals who were under the influence of drugs, then escalated into a direct assault on neighbors’ homes, where the attackers broke into several houses while carrying sharp weapons (knives and other sharp tools), causing panic and fear among the residents.
Images and videos circulated on social media showed several people running in the narrow alleyways of the neighborhood under the cover of darkness, some carrying sticks or sharp weapons, while others were trying to defend themselves or escape.
