Friday Marks the Beginning of Jumada al-Awwal in Morocco

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced that the beginning of the month of Jumada al-Awwal for the year 1447 AH will be on Friday, October 24, 2025.

In an official statement, the ministry mentioned that it observed the crescent moon of Jumada al-Awwal on the evening of Wednesday, 29 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH, corresponding to October 22, 2025, and confirmed that it was not sighted.

The ministry’s statement reads:

“The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs informs citizens that it observed the crescent moon for Jumada al-Awwal on Wednesday evening, 29 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH, corresponding to October 22, 2025. It contacted all representatives of Islamic affairs in the Kingdom and units of the Royal Armed Forces involved in moon sighting, all of whom confirmed the moon was not sighted.

Therefore, the month of Rabi’ al-Thani has completed thirty days, and the first day of Jumada al-Awwal will be on Friday, October 24, 2025.

May Allah bless this holy month for our Sovereign, the Commander of the Faithful and protector of the homeland and religion, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him prosperity, goodness, and blessings. May this month also be a source of happiness for His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, his brother His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the esteemed royal family, as well as for the Moroccan people and the entire Islamic nation, bringing them progress and prosperity.
