During the ministerial council chaired by King Mohammed VI on Sunday, October 19, it was announced that 140 billion dirhams will be allocated in the 2026 budget for the development of health and education.
The Minister of Finance presented a report to King Mohammed VI, highlighting a focus in 2026 on enhancing the budget dedicated to the health and national education sectors, totaling an estimated financial envelope of 140 billion dirhams, along with the creation of over 27,000 job positions for these sectors.
In the health sector, the focus will be on improving healthcare infrastructure, including the opening of university hospital centers in Agadir and Laâyoune, completing the construction and equipping of Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, and continuing the construction of university hospital centers in Beni Mellal, Guelmim, and Errachidia. Additionally, a process to upgrade and modernize 90 hospitals will be launched.
Simultaneously, efforts will be made to accelerate the implementation of the educational reform roadmap, which includes speeding up the rollout of preschool education, enhancing school enrollment support services, and improving the quality of education.
