Morocco National Team Sets World Record with Victory Over Congo

The Moroccan national team began its journey in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with a perfect record. They defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in a match held on Tuesday, October 14, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, as part of the tenth and final round of these qualifiers.

With this victory, Morocco set a world record for consecutive wins, achieving 16 victories across various matches.

The only goal of the match was scored by striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the 63rd minute, capitalizing on a well-placed cross from captain Achraf Hakimi.

With this win, the Moroccan national team maintained its lead in Group F with 24 points from eight consecutive victories. Notably, they secured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the seventh round after a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Niger, who currently sits in second place.
