The Ministry of Interior has initiated a comprehensive administrative investigation to verify the accuracy of information presented in a video circulating on social media. The video features statements from a local councilor in the Safi region, who accuses a former regional governor of soliciting a “bribe” from a contractor in exchange for facilitating a road project in the area.
Informed sources indicate that the ministry has also decided to interview the former governor. A committee from the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration has been tasked with conducting necessary inquiries to examine all pertinent details of the case, gather testimonies from all parties involved, identify alleged irregularities, and collect accurate data to determine accountability.
The sources also noted that the ministry will implement appropriate administrative, disciplinary, and legal actions against anyone found responsible, based on the outcomes of the investigation. This is in strict adherence to the principle of accountability, which is a fundamental tenet of public administration, and aims to uphold the integrity of the territorial administration while promoting values of transparency and integrity.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior remains committed to addressing any actions or practices that undermine public administration or erode citizens’ trust in it.
