Paraguay has reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara, reinforcing its stance in favor of the territorial integrity of the Moroccan kingdom.
During a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Paraguayan Foreign Minister Julio Cesar Arriola reiterated his country’s backing for the Moroccan initiative proposed in 2007, which aims to negotiate the establishment of autonomy for the Western Sahara region. Paraguay considers this initiative a pathway to achieving a political and lasting solution to the conflict.
Arriola emphasized that this position aligns with the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, expressing support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General to find a resolution to the protracted dispute.
