The regional judicial police in Nador opened a judicial investigation on Wednesday afternoon, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to determine the source and destination of a shipment consisting of 76,841 narcotic pills, found smuggled in a utility vehicle arriving from a European port.
An security source reported that national security and customs officers at the Nador port carried out a joint security operation that resulted in the discovery of a shipment of narcotic pills inside a utility vehicle shortly after its arrival on a maritime journey from a European port. The inspection operation led to the seizure of 76,841 “Ecstasy” pills, which were hidden inside boxes of food products.
The same source indicated that investigations and inquiries led to the detention of a 55-year-old individual suspected of being connected to this criminal activity. He is undergoing judicial questioning supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case, as well as to track the extensions of these criminal acts both within Morocco and on a regional and international scale.
