An investigation conducted by the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) has revealed that the Moroccan cherry tomatoes withdrawn in the Netherlands do not contain any metallic substances that could cause cancer.
ONSSA reported on Wednesday, September 17, that the shipment subject to the withdrawal decision announced last week underwent research and was found to be uncontaminated and free of any foreign bodies.
The office also noted that a team from the Netherlands visited the tomato packing facility in Morocco and confirmed there was no contamination present.
