Justice Minister Abdellatif Wahbi revealed discussions regarding the potential establishment of regulatory frameworks to address common practices among international fans, including the consumption of alcohol, within clearly defined areas during the World Cup.
In statements to Reuters concerning alcohol consumption in fan zones, Wahbi noted that Morocco has always managed to balance its cultural traditions with an openness to international expectations.
Despite the availability of alcohol in Morocco, a predominantly Muslim country, public drinking remains prohibited.
Wahbi stated that the tournament would provide an opportunity for Morocco to modernize its legal system and demonstrate that justice can serve both citizens and international partners alike.
