The Spanish club Girona FC and Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Azzedine Ounahi, who has joined the white and red team.
The Moroccan player has signed a contract for five seasons, lasting until June 30, 2030, and will be part of the project led by coach Michel Sanchez to strengthen the team’s midfield.
Ounahi arrives at Montilivi Stadium at the age of 25, following his experience with Olympique de Marseille and a loan spell last season at Greek club Panathinaikos. He developed his football skills in France, transferring to Olympique de Marseille in January 2023 after impressing with Angers.
The player made a significant impact during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, emerging as one of the standout discoveries with the Moroccan national team, which reached the tournament’s semifinals.
He captured the attention of football fans worldwide with his technical style, dribbling ability, and offensive vision.
Ounahi brings European competition experience from both Olympique de Marseille and Panathinaikos. He can play as a midfielder or playmaker, offering Girona quality in building attacks, creativity in the final third, and disrupting opponents’ defenses between lines. His attacking and ambitious style aligns perfectly with Girona’s playing philosophy.
