Death of Sanallah Ibrahim: Celebrating Seven of His Most Notable Works

Egyptian author and writer Sun Allah Ibrahim passed away today, Wednesday, at the age of 88 after a battle with illness.

The Egyptian Ministry of Culture mourned the late writer on its official Facebook page, noting that he “left a literary and humanitarian legacy that will remain present in the consciousness of Egyptian and Arab culture.”

In this context, Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hennu stated that the late Ibrahim was one of the pillars of contemporary Arab narrative, with works characterized by deep vision and a steadfast commitment to national and humanitarian issues, making him a model for creators who combined creative sensitivity with critical awareness.

Ibrahim, born in Cairo in 1937, authored numerous novels and stories during his long career, which became landmarks in Arabic literature and influenced generations of writers and creators.
