The Film Festivals Support Committee has decided to allocate a total of 25 million and 840 thousand dirhams. This amount is designated for 40 national film festivals and events for the July 2025 session.
A statement from the Moroccan Cinematographic Center indicated that the committee, which met from July 22 to 25 in Rabat, reviewed 49 applications for funding. The committee welcomed festival organizers who presented their projects and advocated for their support. As a result, 40 festivals and events will receive funding.
Leading the list of beneficiaries is the Marrakech International Film Festival, which received 12 million dirhams. It is followed by the National Film Festival in Tangier with 7 million and 500 thousand dirhams, and the International Women’s Film Festival in Salé with 1 million dirhams. The Rabat International Author Cinema Festival received 800 thousand dirhams, while the Maghreb International Film Festival in Oujda obtained 450 thousand dirhams.
The support committee meeting was chaired by its president, Mrs. Khadija El Alami El Aarousi, alongside members Ms. Sbah Faissaly, Ms. Malika Maâyain, Ms. Asma Karimich, and Ms. Iman Msbahi. Also present were Mr. Ahmed Afash, Mr. Bouazza Bouchtawy, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Missi.
