The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced a heatwave expected from today, Monday, until Friday, along with thunderstorms accompanied by hail and wind gusts in several regions of the country.
In an orange-level alert bulletin, the Directorate indicated that temperatures are expected to reach between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius today in the provinces of Tata, Zagora, Khouribga, Wazan, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Hajeb, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, and Taza.
Temperatures will also range from 40 to 44 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday in Taza, Kelaa Sraghna, Wazan, Al Rahamna, Beni Mellal, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Khmissat, Youssoufia, Taounate, and Taroudant.
Additionally, temperatures are expected to range from 44 to 47 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Friday in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Smara, Oued Edahab, Boujdour, and Oussard.
On another note, the Directorate stated in an orange-level alert bulletin that thunderstorms (with rainfall between 15 and 25 mm) accompanied by hail and wind gusts are expected today, Monday, from 2 PM to 11 PM, in the provinces of Errachidia, Figuig, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Boulemane, Midelt, Khenifra, and Ifrane.
