The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a weather alert, forecasting a heatwave from Sunday, August 3 to Friday, August 8. Thunderstorms accompanied by hail and wind gusts are also expected in several regions of Morocco on Sunday.
The Directorate anticipates thunderstorms with hail and wind gusts on Sunday from 2 PM to 11 PM. These thunderstorms, with precipitation levels ranging from 15 to 30 mm, will affect the provinces of Azilal, Figuig, Khenifra, Boulemane, Midelt, Tinghir, Errachidia, and Ifrane.
In an orange alert report, the Directorate indicated that temperatures are expected to range between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius from Sunday to Monday in the provinces of Tata, Zagora, Khouribga, Wazan, Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Saleh, Meknes, El Hajeb, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, and Taza.
Additionally, temperatures are projected to remain between 40 and 44 degrees from Tuesday to Wednesday across the provinces of Rhamna, Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Zagora, Taroudant, Taounate, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Meknes, Fez, Fquih Ben Saleh, and Béni Mellal.
Furthermore, temperatures are expected to reach between 44 and 47 degrees from Tuesday to Friday in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Smara, Oued Eddahab, Boujdour, and Oussar.
