Son Heung-min, captain of Tottenham Hotspur, announced that he will end his ten-year tenure with the English club this summer during a press conference on Saturday, August 2.
In front of reporters in Seoul, where Tottenham will face Newcastle in a friendly match on August 3, Son stated, “Before starting the press conference, I want to say that I have decided to leave the club this summer.”
The South Korean forward joined the English team in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen. He has played over 450 matches and won the UEFA Europa League, although injuries have hindered his usual performance. Son has scored 173 goals, including 127 in the league, and is under contract with Tottenham until 2026.
While Son did not disclose his next destination, British media reports suggest a possible move to LAFC in Major League Soccer.
